First Day of School!
Monday, June 29, 2009

Oh my. I totally felt an out-of-body experience when I first stepped into class. It's as if the class were some weird jungle which I know nothing about. I think it takes time to warm up again after you been away from so long. Especially with your Mentor stopping you from coming in to the class and drilling you with all the H1N1 questions. I was tempted to say that I had a runny nose that morning but didn't and it went away after mentoring. It's usually because of my sinus. Oh, and everyone was talking about MJ's unexpected death. Sigh! I wasn't a total fan of him but I did know the more popular songs like "Billy Jean", "Thriller" and so on. But somehow people tend to forget that 2 other people died that week as well. Farrah Fawcett and Neda from Iran. I saw the video of Neda's death and it was really heartbreaking. Still, there's nothing we can do about it so back to school!
Mentoring was talking about H1N1 as always and Mrs James gave us our timetables! :D I didn't print out mine because I knew she would give us one! :D Then first was Chemistry. The first part was still OK but I was still feeling the effects of surrealism and couldn't really pay attention until the calculations part. We're going to have the Come-Back quiz tomorrow, unfortunately. So studying Orbits today, finished the rest already.
Then Chinese we got the shock of our lives and it was pure torture looking through all the H1 Chinese Syllabus. I think I'll need all the motivation in the world to NOT DROP to CLB and keep pushing on till I complete the syllabus. Oh, and O Level Oral is on Thursday. Great... More Chinese.
Genetics was hardest! There's a full 20 or so slides on the history of genetics, which I don't think is really relevant because all they talked about was what this generation couldn't find out and who finally figured it out in the next decade or so. The last few slides were important and we only got 40 minutes to go through them. And next week is the practical! Gah! Die. Homework starts to pile in again. And I get the main gist of the lagging replication DNA strand but totally forgot all the terms except primase. And that's only the FIRST LECTURE! This is going to be a tough module to handle. I'm just really looking forward to Evolution to brighten my day.
